Fans Against Concert Ticket Scalping (F.A.C.T.S) was formed in August of 2002 for the purpose of bringing reform to the laws regarding the operation of ticket agencies in New Jersey. Although current state laws allow tickets for sporting events and concerts to be sold by licensed ticket agents at prices well above face value, the coalition feels that this practice is not in the best interest of the public and should no longer be allowed.
The coalition is working to have state laws changed by petitioning the State Legislature on behalf of the citizens of New Jersey. It's goal is to have these agencies banned from the Garden State so that sports fans and concert goers will no longer have to pay huge markups to these agencies just to attend sporting events and concerts.
Membership in the coalition is open to all U.S.residents who wish to have these laws changed. We also urge residents of other states and countries where ticket agencies are allowed to operate to form their own state coalitions and help put an end to these practices.
But we can not do this alone. We need many voices to back us up if we are to make a difference. But with Strength in numbers we can succeed.
